Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.00%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4), which rose 4.60% or 1.42 points to trade at 32.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) added 4.07% or 3.01 points to end at 76.96 and Hypermarcas SA (SA:HYPE3) was up 3.93% or 1.05 points to 27.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3), which fell 3.48% or 0.53 points to trade at 14.71 at the close. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6) declined 2.94% or 0.53 points to end at 17.51 and B2W Cia Digital (SA:BTOW3) was down 1.96% or 0.48 points to 24.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 218 to 202 and 39 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.07% to 54.43.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.75% or 9.10 to $1199.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.51% or 0.35 to hit $68.94 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.80% or 0.80 to trade at $99.80 .
USD/BRL was down 1.00% to 4.1657, while EUR/BRL fell 1.52% to 4.8440.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 94.93.
