Romania - Factors to watch on June 29

BUCHAREST, June 29 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press reports and events to watch which may affect Romanian financial markets on Friday.

WARNING

Twelve Western nations warned Romanian lawmakers on Thursday against making changes to criminal legislation they say would weaken the rule of law and Bucharest's ability to fight crime and entrenched corruption.

REUTERS POLL

The median forecast of a Reuters poll of analysts puts Romanian inflation at 5.5 percent year-on-year at the end of June, up from May's 5.4 percent.

Analysts put inflation at 3.8 percent at the end of December and 3.0 percent at end-2019, compared with the central bank's current forecasts of 3.6 and 3.0 percent, respectively. The bank targets in flation at 1.5-3.5 percent.

CEE MARKETS

The crown hit a nine-month low against the euro on Thursday as worries over global economic growth and a divisive European Union summit overshadowed Wednesday's interest rate hike by the Czech central bank (CNB).
