(Agencia CMA Latam) - Brazil posted a net foreign-exchange inflow of US$ 314 million this month until May 18, with a trade surplus of US$ 4.148 billion and a net financial outflow of US$ 3.834 billion, according to central bank data.
The trade surplus is a result of US$ 11.650 billion in exports and US$ 7.502 billion in imports. The financial outflow is a result of US$ 26.790 in foreign currency purchases and US$ 30.624 billion in foreign currency sales.
So far in 2018, Brazil has a net foreign-exchange inflow of US$ 17.377 billion, reflecting a US$ 24.216 billion trade surplus and a US$ 6.839 billion net outflow in financial transactions. At the same period of 2017, the country had a net inflow of US$ 10.398 billion.
